Guide to Study in Canada

Work while Studying
International students can work while studying. Generally, international students can work off-campus up to 20 hours per week. International students can work full-time during school holidays such as the winter and summer holidays or spring break.
Co-op Placements
A co-op placement or program involves working as part of your program of study. You may work on or off-campus. For example, you may be enrolled in a co-op degree program in environmental studies. This differs from the standard degree in environmental studies because it allows you to spend 3 or 4 months (or more) each year working in your field of study. How to Study in Canada
- Select a Program: Consult with a counselor regarding the study program you want to pursue in Canada.
- Apply to Campus in Canada: Partner with a campus based on location, study program, fees, and courses.
- Get a Letter of Acceptance: The campus will issue a LoA if you have paid and agreed with the program.
- Apply for a Study Permit: Submit an application to the Government of Canada for a study permit. The study permit is necessary to legally remain in Canada as a student.

A single applicant must demonstrate they have CAN$20,635 after January 1, 2024, in addition to their first year's tuition and travel expenses.
